The Trio Rhea was established in Basel under the guidance of A. Gebert and A. Kernjak, with the goal of exploring and sharing the unique repertoire for clarinet, violin and piano, spanning from baroque to modern music. Its members, Matija, Kristina and Elisa have an active career that has led them to perform all over Europe. United by their desire to expand the traditionally performed repertoire and introduce a fresh and innovative approach to chamber music, they founded Trio Rhea. In choosing the name Rhea, inspired by its association with flow and movement, the Trio seeks to embody the essence of music as a bridge between cultures and a dialogue between different epochs

Rhea, which translated from the Greek Mythology means "that which flows", is also addressing the feeling this Trio is aiming to awake in themselves and their audience. A state of "flow" - in which people are so involved in an activity that nothing else seems to matter.
