Elisa Rumici is an Italian pianist, researcher and music educator based in Switzerland. Active both as a soloist and as a chamber musician, her repertoire ranges from baroque to contemporary music. She regularly performs in Italy and Europe and has given recitals in prominent concert halls and music festivals, such as the Milan Expo, the Fazioli showroom in Milan, the Italian Institute of Culture of Stuttgart, the Circolo dei Lettori in Turin, the Teatro La Fenice in Venice, the Teatro Vittoria in Turin, the Teatro Nuovo Giovanni da Udine and the Gare du Nord in Basel. In 2015 she performed in Óbidos, Portugal, and her recital was recorded and broadcasted on the classical music radio “Antena 2.” In 2016 she performed Mozart’s Concerto k271 in the festival “Il senso della musica” in Vicenza and at the “Festival Ghislandi” in Crema, where her performance was broadcast live on Lodi Crema TV and on Radio Antenna 5; moreover she has performed Schumann’s Concerto op. 54 in Sacile during the music festival “Fvg International music meeting.”, the Triple Concerto by Beethoven with Orchestra del Teatro Olympic in Vicenza and City Life by Steve Reich under the baton of B. Brönimann.
Elisa has won twenty-five first prizes and numerous scholarships, including those offered by the Mari Foundation, the Hochschule für Musik Basel, the Zaczkowski Foundation, the Music Conservatory J. Tomadini of Udine and G. Tartini of Trieste. She has collaborated with several composers and has been dedicatee of many pieces, among them the Concertino for Piano and Orchestra da Camera del M.o. Luigi Donorà, performed for the first time by Elisa together with the composer. Among the other premieres, particularly significant is the first performance of the piece Oceano, written by the Italian composer F. Marino and recorded by Elisa in the cd “Francesco Marino Piano Works”, published by Diapason Records in 2021. Elisa has also recorded the cd “A musical journey”, released by Rhein records, and in 2005 she was chosen to play part of the soundtrack of the documentary "Foibe, il dramma dei deportati e scomparsi" produced by A.N.V.G.D and played in the 71st “Mostra del cinema di Venezia”.
Elisa received her first piano lessons from Maria Cristina Sgura and then studied with Maria Grazia Cabai, Roberto Plano and Riccardo Zadra. She obtained her diploma in piano performance at the Music Conservatory J. Tomadini in Udine in 2013 aged 17, and in 2016 she received her diploma in piano performance at the Accademia Musicale Varesina and graduated magna cum laude at the Music Conservatory A. Pedrollo di Vicenza. After having studied at the Accademia musicale in Pinerolo with Enrico Pace, she has received a Master degree in Piano performance under the guidance of Filippo Gamba at the Hochschule für Musik Basel, where she is currently pursuing a second Master in Piano Pedagogy.
An avide researcher, Elisa is currently pursuing a doctorate at the Hochschule für Musik in Freiburg in collaboration with the University of Strasbourg and the Haute École des Arts du Rhin on the Finnish composer E. Rautavaara under the supervision of Prof. N. Loges and Prof. A. Gomez. With Ettore Cauvin, she is the Founder of NEMus - Nordic Ecomusical Project.
Her activity as musician and researcher has been presented at Radio Gioconda, Tele Pordenone, Tele Friuli and at the RAPP Lab multiplier event: “Reflect & React. How Artistic Research Empowers Musicians and Performing Artists at Higher Education Institutions” at HfMT Köln.
Charity has always been very important for Elisa since she was a child and she has regularly performed for A.G.M.E.N, "Caritas", "Donatori do musica", “Lions” and "Telethon".
Moreover, Elisa has graduated from "Nicolò Copernico" high school in Udine with full marks (100/100).
